Thanks Phil and Nina, I really enjoyed the first podcast! It was very well put together, covered a lot of interesting and varied topics and felt just about the right length for a monthly episode. I think the idea of a different guest presenter each time is an excellent one and a really good opportunity to hear from different people in the world of Social Hiking. Nina’s contribution was very interesting and I’m already looking forward to hearing what Gareth has to say. The show notes are also top quality – too many times people just put a random bunch of links but to have links and timings is really useful. I’m looking forward to the next episode!
Thanks Nick for the feedback – it is really appreciated, and great to hear you enjoyed the podcast. I was particularly worried about length, so it is reassuring to know you found it about right – future podcasts may come in a little shorter, but I think an hour is the maximum. I am really looking forward to working with lots of different users of the site – there is such a rich variety of users and uses, so I think there will be a wealth of content. Thanks as well for the praise about the show notes – there is so much covered, and I felt it was important to make sure everything was easily accessible!
and apologies for making a mess of pronouncing your username at the end!
Enjoyed that and amazed that Nina somehow sounds exactly the same as Lisa Tarbuck. Whats all that about?
~ Fozzie
Thanks for the feedback Fozzie – and you are not the first person to suggest the audio likeness! As an aside, I am looking forward to reading your book on the Pacific Crest Trail whilst being able to follow Colin live as he walks it: http://www.shareyouradventure.com/map/google/Tramplite/Pacific-Crest-Trail.
Hi Phil and Nina – and congratulations on the first social hiking podcast which I’ve thoroughly enjoyed listening to. Really liked the format and the relaxed style in which it was presented. Good to see you featuring some of your favourite maps from the site as well as future developments being tested and in the pipeline – I found it all really interesting. The idea of a guest presenter is great and I’m sure will help keep the podcasts fresh and varied – Nina’s piece on emotional and physical well being was an inspiration. Looking forward to the next one!
Thanks for the feedback Mark – it is really appreciated. The response generally has been beyond expectations (or indeed beyond wildest dreams) – and it sounds like the format and style has gone down well. Quite a lot of pressure now on the next one to deliver! (although Gareth is definitely up for it!)
